As much a draw as the the town and the surrounding area is, visitors will be tempted to spend their vacations indoors if they are not careful.
Though much care has been lavished on the the house, making sure each room offers it’s own special something, the ‘Sapphire Theatre’ invariably gets most of the attention. Offering the character of an old cinema house, (minus the gummy floors that usually come with that old-school experience) this theater has three rows of seating with 7.1 Surround Sound and a 120” big screen displaying Blu-ray quality video. You can also watch the silver screen on the big screen with Apple TV, Shaw satellite and gaming via an XBox. Of course, no theatre would be complete without popcorn supplied, in the Upland Villa, by a small concession just outside the door of the theatre, including a bar fridge, microwave and sink.
Not much can compete with a theatre this grand, but we’ve done our best to make sure the rest of the house is equally inviting.
The villa sleeps ten comfortably, twelve if you’re really close or have small ones with you. That’s four (two upstairs, one downstairs and a loft with two double beds) bedrooms, with five beds. The Master bedroom is a Greek-inspired open design with a 6 piece tiled ensuite. It includes vaulted ceilings, a bidet, jetted tub, his and her sinks, skylights, ceiling fans, two closets, a fireplace, hardwood floors and Juliet balcony overlooking the backyard.
The other upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a bathroom with full-size tub, toilet and sink vanity. The basement has a room with a single bed and a 57” hi DEF television and wardrobe. There is a bathroom featuring full-size tub, toilet and sink vanity across the hall from the bedroom.
The charm doesn't stop at the walls of the house either. The backyard is an oasis, featuring an array of perennials and fruit trees, including Pear, Cherry, Plum and Apple trees. Berries include strawberry, raspberry, gooseberry and Saskatoon berry bushes, as well as Cortland grapes next to a small pond in the backyard. The soft sounds of splashing water and the lapping scents of flowers and fruits makes for a relaxing getaway even in the midst of vacation chaos.
Further enticing you to a staycation (except for brief trips to the grocery store, a mere stone-throw away), is a chef’s dream of a kitchen. With a double convection oven and a gas stove, gourmands will love to dream up dishes and prepare them in this spacious kitchen. And with a garbarator and dishwasher, clean up is easy enough for satisfied diners. A large, solid wood dining set that seats eight, with room for more at the kitchen island, promises plenty of room and opportunity for entertaining even if your whole family is coming over for christmas dinner. A 44’ LCD TV even allows you to enjoy a bit of Gordon Ramsay while cooking, making it a truly hard to leave room.
Home security, wifi, main floor laundry and central A/C round out the house, keeping your vacation comfortable and fun.
